ICH Care’s story begins with a shared vision among its passionate founders, who each brought a wealth of expertise and decades of dedicated service in healthcare, education, and community development. Recognizing the persistent challenges of health disparities, fragmented care, and inequitable access to resources, they saw an urgent need for an integrated approach to address these gaps.
Susan Mutua holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) and a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) in Leadership and Management. With over 30 years of healthcare experience spanning home health, skilled nursing, acute care settings, community engagement, and clinical leadership roles, Susan has observed firsthand the critical gaps in continuity and sustainability of care for individuals across various stages of life. Her expertise in healthcare management and her deep compassion for underserved communities have fueled her commitment to holistic, person-centered care aimed at addressing and mitigating community disparities.
Dr. Philliph Masila Mutisya is a distinguished expert in instructional leadership and community development. With a Doctorate in Instructional Leadership focusing on Curriculum Development in Multicultural and Bilingual Education, and a Master’s in Education (M.Ed.) in International Education, he brings over 35 years of experience in higher education. His expertise includes instructional training and development, curriculum design and evaluation, research capacity building, and professional development for educators (K-20). Dr. Mutisya's work focuses on advancing social justice, cultural identity, and global civic education literacy. His dedication to interdisciplinary critical pedagogy and community empowerment aligns with ICHCare’s mission to foster sustainable, equitable solutions.
Angela Mbalu holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN). Her career began in a reference lab specializing in HIV testing, where she identified the critical need for comprehensive care and support. Motivated by this realization, Angela transitioned into nursing, focusing on critical care. With over 25 years of experience in healthcare, Angela has served in various critical care roles and worked on the frontlines in COVID-19 pandemic treatment centers. Her firsthand experiences during global health crises have deepened her resolve to advocate for proactive, holistic, whole-person care to address unmet community needs effectively.
An accomplished professional, Joan Ng’otie specializes in educational consultancy, instructional and curriculum design, and content development. With extensive expertise in creating textbooks, custom course materials, and blogs, Joan has contributed significantly to public health advocacy, community development, the NGO sector, and publishing. As an online adjunct professor and secondary educator, Joan also provides strategic consultancy, aligning curriculum design with national standards to support institutions and publishers effectively.
Together, they embraced the challenge, founding ICHCare to create impactful programs blending healthcare, education, and community engagement. Guided by their combined expertise and unwavering commitment, ICHCare continues to champion holistic care, fostering resilient families and thriving communities through innovative, compassionate, and sustainable solutions.
